Centuries ago, a great calamity befell the planet Lumera. A mysterious entity, which some called "The Veil", enveloped the sky, plunging the world into perpetual night. No one knew where this Veil came from or how to eliminate it. Panic set in, plants began to wither and animals to die. But in time, life found a way to persevere.
The World of Lumera
Luméra became a world of bioluminescence. Trees glowed with a soft, bluish light, rivers sparkled like ribbons of stars, and creatures from the tiniest insect to the largest predator emitted their own glow. At the centre of this world was the city of Éclatéa, home to the Luméens, human beings adapted to this dark environment, each with their own halo of light.

Popular wisdom had it that the Veil was caused by the actions of Luméan ancestors who had taken the light for granted. Alina, a young Luméan girl, was fascinated by these stories. Her grandmother often told her about a prophecy which said that one day, a Luméan would be able to cross the Veil and bring back the light of the sun.

Driven by the prophecy and her insatiable desire to see the true light of day, Alina set off on a journey to unlock the secret of the Veil. She encountered astonishing creatures, such as the Nyctalopes with their brilliant eyes that could see in the deepest darkness, and the giant Fireflies that could light up vast areas of the forest.

After many dangers and discoveries, Alina arrived at the border of the Veil. There she met an ancient entity, the Guardian of the Veil. He revealed that the Veil was a form of protection, the planet's response to the negligence of the Lumean ancestors. But he also recognised the beauty of the bioluminescent world that had emerged.

The Choice
The Guardian offered Alina a choice: dispel the Veil and bring back the sunlight, or leave Lumera in her eternal night, preserving the unique beauty that had developed. Torn, Alina realised that, although the sunlight was magnificent, Lumera had found her own way to shine. She decided to leave the Veil in place, preserving the balance of the planet.
